67’s End Road Trip in North Bay

Ottawa has found success in Northern Ontario, thus far, besting the hometown Sudbury Wolves by a final score of 3-1, on Friday. Alex Johnston recorded his third consecutive multi-point game, with Thomas Johnston scoring the eventual gamewinner, and Vinzenz Rohrer tallying his 11th on the campaign for good measure. Max Donoso earned his first career First Star performance in goal, making 33 saves.
The Battalion, meanwhile, were blanked 3-0 by the Mississauga Steelheads on the road, Friday night. The Troops enter this contest with a 3-4-2 record to begin the month of January, having lost five straight.
It hasn’t been long since the 67’s battled with North Bay, with the most recent meeting having been December 31, 2021. Brady Stonehouse scored two, for his first career multi-goal game, with Gavin Ewles and Thomas Sirman each tallying their first OHL goals, and Vsevolod Gaidamak putting a bow on the contest, for a 5-1 Ottawa victory on the road. Will Cranley was brilliant in goal, turning aside 20 of 21 shots.
