67’s earn inaugural win of 2024 preseason in North Bay
The Ottawa 67’s cruised to a 5-0 preseason win over the North Bay Battalion on Friday night, improving their record to 1-1 in the exhibition season.
Travelling north mere hours before the game, you’d have excused the Barber Poles for starting a little slow, especially the young guys who might not be used to trips like that, but the exact opposite happened. Just over four minutes into the contest, Nathan Amidovski found twine for his first goal of the preseason.
About four minutes later, the 67’s doubled their lead courtesy of a goal from Caden Kelly, before Chris Barlas made it three with under two minutes to play in the opening frame.
The second period was nearly through when Kimi Körbler beat Carter Nadon, giving Ottawa a four-goal cushion, which they held until the latter stages of the third period.
Kelly potted his second of the night, putting the 67’s ahead by five, a lead they would defend until the final buzzer.
