67’s close out regular season against Bulldogs
Though it seems like the season just began yesterday, it’s finally Game #68 in Ottawa.
The 67’s are at home for their final regular season game, and with the Brantford Bulldogs in town for a 2:00pm puck drop, there are tons of playoff seeding implications hanging in the balance across the league. Fans can catch all the action on CHL TV, or hear Kenny Walls on the radio call for TSN 1200.
Ottawa was down three forwards, and lost Collin MacKenzie two thirds of the way through the game on Friday, but still earned a point on the road in a 3-2 overtime loss to the Kingston Frontenacs. Luca Pinelli scored his 48th goal of the season, and is still well within reach of 50 in the season finale.
The Bulldogs suffered a similar fate last night, dropping a 4-3 overtime score in Kingston. It was a bitter pill to swallow for Brantford, who saw a 3-2 lead slip away in the third period.
While the 67’s are locked into sixth place heading into the postseason, the Bulldogs have the potential to slip into fourth with a win and a Sudbury Wolves loss. Ottawa’s playoff opponent will also be decided today, with it down to the Mississauga Steelheads, the Bulldogs, or the Wolves as their potential first-round matchups.
