67’s close out long road trip in Brantford
Finally, the Ottawa 67’s (14-15-2-5) OHL-long nine-game road trip is nearing its end, wrapping up on Sunday afternoon with a game against the Brantford Bulldogs (18-15-4-0). You can see all of the action on Rogers TV and CHLTV, or hear Kenny Walls’ call on TSN 1200. Puck drop from the Brantford Civic Centre is at 2 p.m.
The Barber Poles have a chance to end their road trip, which began back on December 15th, with a .500 record on Sunday afternoon, currently standing a 3-4-0-1, with wins over the Barrie Colts, North Bay Battalion, and Peterborough Petes under their belt.
Ottawa fell big to the Flint Firebirds on Friday night, following a narrow loss to the Saginaw Spirit a night prior. Matthew Mayich scored Ottawa’s lone goal on Friday.
Brantford comes into this contest losers of their past three games, most recently falling to the Sarnia Sting on Friday. Marek Vanacker found twine in the second, but that’s all the offence the Bulldogs would produce.
Bulldogs’ forward Nick Lardis has taken over the OHL goal-scoring race, pacing the league with 32 markers, 13 of which have come on the power play, also a league-high.
In their only other meeting this season, the Bulldogs took a 6-3 win, spoiling Ottawa REDBLACKS theme night inside The Arena at TD Place.

Keys to the game
- Dig deep
Being on the road for nearly a month is tough, but it’s almost over. Dig deep, find that energy, and finish strong.
- Play fast
The surface is smaller, but the 67’s have found a lot of success when they keep their feet moving.
- 60 minutes
Ottawa can’t afford too many lapses, they’ll need a full 60 minutes of effort to come away with a win.
