2025 Draft Pick Colby Coombe Signs with the Ottawa 67’s
OTTAWA – The Ottawa 67’s announced today that forward Colby Coombe has signed an Ontario Hockey League Scholarship and Development Agreement with the team.
“Colby led the Chicago Reapers with 35 goals last season, contributing to his team’s success as they advanced to the USA Hockey U16 Nationals tournament,” says 67’s General Manager Jan Egert. “He is a competitive winger that can score off the rush, is strong on the puck and comfortable on the walls. We are happy that Colby chose to continue his development journey with the 67’s.”
A product of Shelby Township, MI, Coombe was selected 207th overall by Ottawa in the 2025 OHL Priority Selection. In the 2025-26 season, he starred with the Chicago Reapers 16U AAA, where he recorded 35 goals and 33 assists for 68 points in 57 games. He also played in the US 16U Nationals, where he scored two goals and one assist for a total of three points in four games.

OTTAWA – Les 67 d’Ottawa ont annoncé aujourd’hui que l’attaquant Colby Coombe avait signé un contrat de développement et obtenu une bourse d’études avec la Ligue de hockey de l’Ontario.
« Colby a terminé meilleur buteur des Reapers de Chicago avec 35 buts la saison dernière, contribuant ainsi au succès de son équipe qui s’est qualifiée pour le tournoi national U16 de USA Hockey », déclare Jan Egert, directeur général des 67’s. « C’est un ailier combatif, capable de marquer en contre-attaque, solide au palet et à l’aise le long des bandes. Nous sommes ravis que Colby ait choisi de poursuivre son parcours de développement avec les 67’s. »
Originaire de Shelby Township, dans le Michigan, Coombe a été sélectionné en 207e position par Ottawa lors du repêchage prioritaire de l’OHL de 2025. Au cours de la saison 2025-2026, il s’est illustré avec les Chicago Reapers 16U AAA, où il a inscrit 35 buts et 33 passes décisives pour un total de 68 points en 57 matchs. Il a également participé aux championnats nationaux américains des moins de 16 ans, où il a inscrit deux buts et une passe décisive, pour un total de trois points en quatre matchs.
