2023 9th-round pick defenceman Ryan White commits to 67’s

The Ottawa 67’s have received a commitment from 2007-born defenceman Ryan White.

White, 17, was selected by Ottawa in the ninth round of the 2023 OHL Priority Selection, 182nd overall. Since then, the Kanata native continued to play with the Pittsburgh Penguins Elite program the following season, before making the step to the junior ranks this year, playing with the Surrey Eagles in the BCHL, where he has three points in 12 games.

“Ryan is a swift-skating defenceman with vision and play-making ability,” said 67’s General Manager James Boyd. “He will be a welcome addition to our lineup.”

The son of former Ottawa Senators forward Todd White, Ryan has committed to Providence College for the 2025-26 season.

Les 67’s d’Ottawa ont reçu un engagement du défenseur Ryan White, né en 2007.

« Ryan est un défenseur au coup de patin rapide, doté d’une vision et d’une capacité de jeu », a déclaré James Boyd, directeur général des 67’s. « Il sera un ajout bienvenu à notre alignement. »

White, 17 ans, a été choisi par Ottawa en neuvième ronde de la sélection prioritaire de la Ligue de l’Ontario de 2023, au 182e rang au total. Depuis, le natif de Kanata a continué à jouer avec le programme élite des Penguins de Pittsburgh la saison suivante, avant de faire le saut dans les rangs juniors cette année, jouant avec les Eagles de Surrey dans la BCHL, où il a récolté trois points en 12 matchs.

Fils de l’ancien attaquant des Sénateurs d’Ottawa Todd White, Ryan s’est engagé auprès du Providence College pour la saison 2025-26.
