GAME PREVIEW: 67’s seeking revenge against Petes

OTTAWA, ON – The Ottawa 67’s (41-14-1-3) will make one more stop in the Electric City before heading home, where they’ll face off against the Peterborough Petes (34-22-1-3), Thursday, March 5th, 2026, at 7:05 p.m. Fans can tune in via Flo Hockey or listen to TSN 1200 for play-by-play from Kenny Walls.

The 67’s are headed by overage forward Cooper Foster, who leads the group in points with 56 points in 57 games. This matchup will be a special one for fellow overager Nic Sima, who is set to suit up in his 300th OHL game. Sima has become an invaluable piece for the Barber Poles since his arrival, providing a physical presence while notching 14 points in 21 games. Additionally, this is the first game for defenseman Frankie Marrelli since committing to Ohio State University. Marrelli has had a breakout season, with a career high of 35 points over 57 games so far, 16 of which across his last 15 games. Furthermore, this will be the last regular-season game in Peterborough for 67’s forward Sam McCue, who joined the league as a seventh-round pick by the Petes in 2021.

On the other side, the 67’s should be wary of Kieron Walton, who sits tied for fifth in the OHL in points with 80. 2026 NHL draft prospect Adam Novotný should also pose a threat to the 67’s, sitting at 31 goals on the year. On the blueline, the Petes have found quite the player in rookie Matthew Perreault, with 25 points in 57 games.

The 67’s and Petes have met six times this season, with Ottawa coming out on top in four. In the most recent game, however, the Petes had their way, winning 7-3, with four-point nights from Walton and Novotný. Despite the winning record in the season series so far for the 67’s, both of Ottawa’s losses have come on the road in Peterborough.
