Undefeated Barber Poles return home to face Petes
The Ottawa 67’s are looking to push their unprecedented season opening win streak to double digits, Friday night, when the red-hot rival Peterborough Petes come to town. Puck drop is set for 7:00pm ET, and fans can watch live on Rogers TV, stream on CHL TV, or hear Kenny Walls call the action on TSN 1200.
The 67’s are in search of their 10th straight win, standing as the only remaining undefeated team in the OHL, and fifth-ranked team in the nation.
Ottawa completed a sweep of their Northern Ontario road trip, Sunday, earning a 5-3 comeback win over the Sudbury Wolves. After falling behind 3-0 in the second period; Brady Stonehouse, Anthony Costantini, and Cam Tolnai brought the game back to even within three minutes, and Tyler Boucher found the game winner in the third period, before Jack Matier sealed it with an empty-netter. Collin MacKenzie, entering the game in the middle frame, stopped all 14 shots he faced.
The Petes have won two straight, most recently handing the visiting Soo Greyhounds a 6-2 loss, a night ago. Peterborough got goals from six different scorers; in Konnor Smith, Tucker Robertson, Nik Lardis, Brian Zanetti, Chase Stillman, and Connor Lockhart, with Michael Simpson making 22 saves in the effort.
