67’s fall short in Pennsylvania
The 67’s made a game of it against the Erie Otters after falling behind early, but didn’t have enough to finish during a 6-4 setback on Thursday night in Pennsylvania.
Ottawa trailed 3-1 at the end of the opening period but rallied to even the score in the middle period, only to watch the Otters pull ahead for good, as Erie scored the next three goals.
In the game’s final minute, Kanata native Connor Warnholtz scored for the first time in his OHL career to get the 67’s back to within a pair.
Leo Lazarev, who made 18 saves, started his fourth straight game for Ottawa.
Up next for the 67’s are the Niagara IceDogs on Saturday in St,. Catharines, then Sunday in Mississauga against the Steelheads.
Ottawa returns to TD Place on Friday, January 8 against the Peterborough Petes for a 7 p.m. game.
