67’s Acquire Defenseman from Saginaw

The Ottawa 67’s today announced the acquisition of 6’3 defenseman Ryan Orban from the Saginaw Spirit in exchange for 5’ 9” defenseman Troy Henley and an 8th round draft pick. Orban, who hails from the Ottawa suburb Stittsville, practiced with his new team earlier today and will be in the Ottawa lineup this Friday evening when they host the Belleville Bulls.
“He’s a big boy,” said 67’s Head Coach Jeff Brown after Orban’s first outing with his new teammates. “Ryan’s size and strength will be a welcome addition to our defense and I know he’s looking forward to playing in front of a hometown crowd. I’d also like to thank Troy Henley for his service to the 67’s. We wish him well.”
17-year old Orban, a graduate of the Ottawa Valley Titans program, was in his second season with Saginaw and had been awarded an “A” at the start of the season. He’s regarded as solid and difficult to play against in the defensive zone.
