67’S LOOK TO CONTINUE WINNING WAYS ON HOME ICE
Coming off their best weekend of the season which saw the boys go a perfect two wins in two games, the 67’s play host to a couple of Western Conference teams this weekend.
Coming to town on Friday night are the Plymouth Whalers who feature super sophomore Tyler Seguin. Seguin has impressed early on this season with 36 points in 18 games played. He was a teammate to 67’s forward Tyler Toffoli this past summer on Team Canada’s gold medal winning under 18 squad. This is also Seguin’s NHL draft year in which he has garnered hype as a potential top 3 pick. The Whalers currently are in 5th place in the tough Western Conference. Friday also marks the return of Groucho Night as 67’s fans will attempt to break a Guinness World Record of the most people wearing Groucho glasses. Don’t miss out on making history!
On Sunday another tough test faces the 67’s when the Kitchener Rangers make their lone appearance at the Urbandale Centre. Kitchener has had a hot start out of the gate leading the Midwest Division with 33 points. The Rangers line-up features NHL first round draft choice, defenseman John Moore (Columbus 09) and winger Jeremy Morin a second rounder (Atlanta 09). Other players to watch on Kitchener include Jeff Skinner who is a potential first round candidate for next summer’s NHL draft and local product Jason Akeson who hails from Orleans. Sunday is the Green Game at the Urbandale Centre, promoting the preservation of our environment.
Notes: The 67’s are on the road this Wednesday night in Belleville. 67’s players Tyler Cuma and Tyler Toffoli will participate in Canada-Russia Super Series Thursday night in Barrie as part of Team OHL. Toffoli will also be a member of Team OHL November 23 in game 2 of the series in Windsor.
