67’s Announce First Round Playoff Schedule
The Ottawa 67’s today announced the dates and times for their first round OHL playoff series against either the Niagara Ice Dogs or the Barrie Colts.
The 67’s will finish third in the OHL Eastern Conference, which means they have clinched home ice advantage in their first round best-of-seven series against the team that finishes in sixth place. Currently, Barrie and Niagara hold down positions number 5 and 6 respectively, separated by a single point, and each team has 3 games remaining on the schedule, including a head-to-head matchup tonight in Niagara.
Game one of the 67’s first round series will be at the Ottawa Civic Centre on Friday, March 20th, at 7:30 pm. Game two will be played on Sunday, March 22nd, at 2:00 pm. The series then shifts to the opposing team’s building for games 3, 4 and 5 (if necessary), March 24th, 26th and 28th, with games 6 and 7 (if necessary) back at the Civic Centre on Monday, March 30th and Tuesday, March 31st at 7:00 pm.
The two-three-two format for Ottawa’s first round series was necessitated by a lack of access to the Civic Centre between March 26th and 29th due to the annual Ottawa Home & Garden Show.
Both Niagara and Barrie close their regular seasons on Saturday, which means Ottawa’s first round opponent will be confirmed before the puck drops for Killer’s (Coach Brian Kilrea) historic final regular season game behind the bench on Sunday, March 15th at 2:00 pm. A limited number of tickets for that game, and for first round playoff games, are available online @ www.Ottawa67s.com, by telephone @ 613.599.FANS or in person @ the 67’s box office in the Coliseum Building, Lansdowne Park, Ottawa.
