2012 Ottawa 67’s – OHL Under-16 Program of Excellence
Ottawa, ON – Ontario Ottawa 67’s Owner Jeff Hunt and Ontario Hockey League (OHL) Commissioner David Branch are pleased to announce details of the 5th Annual Ottawa 67’s – OHL Under-16 Program of Excellence that will be held from May 4th to 6th at Ottawa University.
The Ottawa 67’s / OHL Under-16 Program of Excellence is a development experience designed to educate and inform players and parents. The goals of the program are to introduce players, families and coaches to high performance hockey, the Program of Excellence and the Ontario Hockey League; to create a unique and special life and hockey experience for all players and staff involved; and to develop hockey players, coaches and trainers both on and off the ice. This program is the same program that is conducted across the province in Thunder Bay, Kitchener, Sudbury, Oshawa, Toronto and Windsor.
“Canada and Ontario’s success on the world hockey stage is largely due to the tremendous teamwork not only on the ice, but off the ice. We are extremely pleased to once again partner with the Ottawa 67’s for the fifth consecutive year to provide the Under-16 Program of Excellence in 2012,” stated Branch. “Given the outstanding success in the first five years of the Under-16 Program, we are most pleased to see the continued growth of the U-16 Program for the benefit of the players, coaches, trainers and families in providing a first class development opportunity, both on and off the ice. We are again excited to work with the players and families from the Ottawa and surrounding areas to assist them in their player development and create a special life experience for all involved.”
Hunt is looking forward to the weekend as well. “To work with the players in our region and provide them with such a great development opportunity, we could not be happier to be an integral part in the leadership and development of the Program and bring the Under-16 Program to Ottawa again.”
The weekend will consist of four teams from the 1997 age group who played this year at the AAA Level.
