He will remain active on social media, where he will share his successes, his challenges and his tips on balancing sport and school. He will also take part in a number of the organization’s events.<\/p>\n Throughout the 2026-27 season, the Alliance Sports-\u00c9tudes will be presenting short features showcasing Metcalfe. The Armada forward will receive $250 for his contribution at the end of his term, and a bonus may be awarded depending on the level of involvement and the quality of commitment demonstrated.<\/p>\n A Boisbriand, QC native, Metcalfe is currently studying Human Sciences with maths at Coll\u00e8ge Lionel-Groulx of Sainte-Th\u00e9r\u00e8se. He was named student-athlete of the month for November 2024. He attributes part of his success to his discipline and organisational skills, which enable him to balance hockey and his studies.<\/p>\n On the ice, Metcalfe is in his third full season in the QMJHL, at 19. After playing four games for the F\u00e9lins as an affiliated player in 2008\u201309, the forward from Saint-Narcisse-de-Beaurivage really carved out a place for himself in the squad the following season.<\/p>\n In total, Gourde played 199 regular-season matches for the Tigres, racking up 221 points, including 74 goals and 147 assists. He also added 18 points in 29 playoff contests.<\/p>\n Never drafted into the National Hockey League, he is one of the finest examples of determination to come out of the Cecchini circuit. Following his junior career, Gourde made his way through the ranks of professional ice hockey, moving from the ECHL to the American Hockey League, before establishing himself as an NHL player in the 2017\u20132018 season.<\/p>\n He went on to become a key part of the Tampa Bay Lightning\u2019s back-to-back Stanley Cup victories in 2020 and 2021, having his name engraved twice on hockey\u2019s most prestigious trophy.<\/p>\n His career also took him to Seattle, where he played for the Kraken for four seasons, before returning to the Lightning in 2025.<\/p>\n Gourde will become the 10th player to receive this honour from the Tigres, after Alexandre Daigle, St\u00e9phane Fiset, Mathieu Garon, Danny Groulx, Matthew Lombardi, Carl Mallette, Yves Racine, R\u00e9ginald Savage and P.J. \nCavallin, who holds dual Canadian and British citizenship, was invited to the Drummondville Voltigeurs training camp in 2024 after spending two seasons in the OHL with the Kingston Frontenacs. After a 30-point season in 57 games with Drummondville, he was traded to Val-d\u2019Or in the summer of 2025, but only briefly passed through with the Foreurs, who sent him to Baie-Comeau after just six games. With 28 points, including 18 goals, in 47 games with the Drakkar, Cavallin concludes his QMJHL career with 61 points (36\u201325) in 110 games. He will join Maryville University in 2026\u20132027.<\/p>\nShawn Pearson<\/strong>
\nA second-round pick of the Oc\u00e9anic in 2021, Pearson got a five-game audition in Rimouski in 2021\u20132022 before earning a full-time spot the following season. Then, in the summer of 2023, the energy forward was traded to Baie-Comeau, where he spent three seasons, including a run to the Gilles-Courteau Trophy Final in 2024. However, Pearson began the most recent season in the BCHL with Cranbrook before returning to Baie-Comeau as a 20-year-old. In 240 QMJHL games, he recorded 65 points and 218 penalty minutes. The University of Moncton has recruited him for 2026\u20132027.<\/p>\nKyle Powers<\/strong>
\nPowers, an Ontario native, was invited to the Charlottetown Islanders training camp in 2023 and carved out a role there over two seasons. Then, after only two games in the 2025\u20132026 season, he was traded to Baie-Comeau, where his 34 points in 52 games allowed him to finish as the Drakkar\u2019s leading scorer. \nThe third overall pick by the Baie-Comeau Drakkar in 2021, Collard spent two seasons in Baie-Comeau before being traded to Moncton, where he truly blossomed. The big forward of 6’3″ and 199 pounds recorded seasons of 57 and 52 points with the Wildcats, helping them capture the Gilles-Courteau Trophy in 2025. He was then traded to Blainville-Boisbriand where, after collecting 41 points as team captain, he helped the Armada reach the 2026 playoff semifinals. Collard\u2019s 325 career games place him in a tie for 38th<\/sup> place in QMJHL history, and he amassed 197 points during that span. He will play for St. Thomas University in 2026\u201327.<\/p>\nMa\u00ebl Lavigne<\/strong>
\nLavigne was also acquired by the Armada in the summer of 2025 to help the team make a deep run in 2025\u201326. The Armada\u2019s journey ultimately ended in the semifinals. Lavigne had gone one step further the previous season with the Rimouski Oc\u00e9anic, reaching the Gilles-Courteau Trophy Final. The Oc\u00e9anic had previously acquired him from Victoriaville, where Lavigne spent nearly two seasons after being selected by the Drakkar in the fourth round of the 2021 QMJHL Draft. \nA seventh-round pick of the Sherbrooke Phoenix in 2021, Gendron returned to Magog in the U18 AAA ranks as a 16-year-old before playing collegiate hockey and earning a seven-game audition with the Phoenix at age 17. The following season, he established himself as a full-time QMJHL player, recording 23 goals and 44 points before being traded to Cape Breton midway through the 2024\u201325 season. Gendron saved his best for his 20-year-old season, posting a career-high 56 points, the highest total among the Eagles. The Sherbrooke native concludes his Q career with 145 points in 193 games, and should play for Concordia University next year.<\/p>\nF\u00e9lix Hamel<\/strong>
\nAlso a seventh-round pick in 2021, selected by the Drakkar, Hamel suited up for Baie-Comeau, Shawinigan, Blainville-Boisbriand and Cape Breton during his 116-game QMJHL career. The 6’3″ goaltender enjoyed his best season in 2024\u201325 with the Cataractes and Armada, posting 30 wins in 44 games along with four shutouts, a 2.63 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage. This season, he served as the Eagles\u2019 number-one goaltender, appearing in 38 games while recording a 2.93 goals-against average and a .899 save percentage. His academic and athletic journey will continue at the University of Ottawa in 2026\u201327.<\/p>\nLucas Romeo<\/strong>
\nInvited to the Charlottetown Islanders\u2019 training camp in 2022, Romeo spent a year and a half in Charlottetown before being traded to Cape Breton. The big Ontario native, standing 6’3″ and weighing 206 pounds, quickly became a fan favourite with the Eagles thanks to his physical and hard-nosed style of play. Over his career, he recorded at least 15 goals and 30 points in three different seasons, finishing with 119 points in 238 junior games\u2014exactly 0.50 points per game. He also accumulated 317 penalty minutes.
