The big forward of 6'3" and 199 pounds recorded seasons of 57 and 52 points with the Wildcats, helping them capture the Gilles-Courteau Trophy in 2025. He was then traded to Blainville-Boisbriand where, after collecting 41 points as team captain, he helped the Armada reach the 2026 playoff semifinals. Collard’s 325 career games place him in a tie for 38^th place in QMJHL history, and he amassed 197 points during that span. He will play for St. Thomas University in 2026–27. Maël Lavigne Lavigne was also acquired by the Armada in the summer of 2025 to help the team make a deep run in 2025–26. The Armada’s journey ultimately ended in the semifinals. Lavigne had gone one step further the previous season with the Rimouski Océanic, reaching the Gilles-Courteau Trophy Final. The Océanic had previously acquired him from Victoriaville, where Lavigne spent nearly two seasons after being selected by the Drakkar in the fourth round of the 2021 QMJHL Draft. Altogether, with Baie-Comeau, Victoriaville, Rimouski and Blainville-Boisbriand, the 6'4", 197-pound forward totaled 181 points in 315 games. He will join the University of Nebraska-Omaha next season. Théo Lemieux A fourth-round pick of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies in 2021, Lemieux joined the Armada midway through the 2022–23 season and left a lasting mark on the franchise. His 223 games rank fourth in team history, while his 104 points rank fourth among defencemen, behind Xavier Villeneuve, Pascal Corbeil and Miguel Tourigny. Not the biggest player at 5'10" and 177 pounds, Lemieux was remarkably consistent in Blainville-Boisbriand, posting full-season totals of 32, 32 and 28 points. The following season, he established himself as a full-time QMJHL player, recording 23 goals and 44 points before being traded to Cape Breton midway through the 2024–25 season. Gendron saved his best for his 20-year-old season, posting a career-high 56 points, the highest total among the Eagles. The Sherbrooke native concludes his Q career with 145 points in 193 games, and should play for Concordia University next year. Félix Hamel Also a seventh-round pick in 2021, selected by the Drakkar, Hamel suited up for Baie-Comeau, Shawinigan, Blainville-Boisbriand and Cape Breton during his 116-game QMJHL career. The 6'3" goaltender enjoyed his best season in 2024–25 with the Cataractes and Armada, posting 30 wins in 44 games along with four shutouts, a 2.63 goals-against average and a .914 save percentage. This season, he served as the Eagles’ number-one goaltender, appearing in 38 games while recording a 2.93 goals-against average and a .899 save percentage. His academic and athletic journey will continue at the University of Ottawa in 2026–27. Lucas Romeo Invited to the Charlottetown Islanders’ training camp in 2022, Romeo spent a year and a half in Charlottetown before being traded to Cape Breton. The big Ontario native, standing 6'3" and weighing 206 pounds, quickly became a fan favourite with the Eagles thanks to his physical and hard-nosed style of play. Over his career, he recorded at least 15 goals and 30 points in three different seasons, finishing with 119 points in 238 junior games—exactly 0.50 points per game. He also accumulated 317 penalty minutes. His 47 goals and 84 points ultimately earned him a spot on the QMJHL Second All-Star Team, while also allowing him to capture the Islanders’ scoring title, finishing 17 points ahead of Ross Campbell. What a rise for Leek, who was invited to the Islanders’ training camp in 2024 after a season with Leamington in the OJHL and a three-game audition with the Peterborough Petes of the OHL. In just one year with Charlottetown, Leek increased his point total from 39 to 84, convincing Ferris State University to offer him a scholarship. Dylan MacKinnon The fifth overall pick of the Halifax Mooseheads in 2021, MacKinnon enjoyed a successful 279-game QMJHL career, recording 61 points while playing for Halifax, Moncton and Charlottetown. After three seasons in Halifax, MacKinnon was traded to Moncton in the summer of 2024. A few months later, his physical and hard-nosed style of play helped the Wildcats capture the Gilles-Courteau Trophy. The defenseman then moved to Charlottetown after only two games in the 2025–26 season. A third-round pick of the Nashville Predators in 2023, D-Mac has signed a contract with the Providence Bruins of the American Hockey League for the 2026–27 season. Tyler Peddle Peddle arrived in Drummondville in 2021 carrying plenty of expectations after being selected second overall. He performed well as a 16-year-old, posting 35 points, and continued his development at age 17 with 41 points. Midway through the 2023–24 season, the Voltigeurs traded him to Saint John, where he spent a season and a half. Charlottetown became his home for his 20-year-old season, and he finishes his junior career with 152 points (81 goals, 71 assists) in 296 games. "Next week I fly to Rimouski and I'm very glad I was drafted by Rimouski," Mares said from the Hlinka Gretzky Cup in Edmonton. "I can't wait to see all the players, the coaches and the city." The Oceanic made Mares the fifth overall pick in the 2026 CHL Import Draft where he is set to join a long line of Czech players to play for the franchise. Traded to Chicoutimi shortly thereafter, he wrapped up his junior career ranked 20th in Saguenéens history among defencemen with 204 games played and 12th with 124 points. Along the way, he learned French and helped the Sags capture the 2026 Gilles-Courteau Trophy championship. Not bad! After posting back-to-back 40-point seasons, the Latvian defenceman will join Bowling Green State University in 2026-27. Jordan Tourigny It's difficult to summarize Jordan Tourigny's career in just a few sentences. Selected ninth overall by the Shawinigan Cataractes in the 2021 QMJHL Entry Draft, he undoubtedly left his mark on both the franchise and the QMJHL. A two-time league champion—with Shawinigan in 2022 and Chicoutimi in 2026—Tourigny finished his junior career ranked 21st all-time among QMJHL defencemen with 320 games played and 36th with 208 points. In the storied history of the Shawinigan Bruins/Dynamos/Cataractes franchise dating back to 1969, only Stéphane Robidas, François Groleau, Samuel Girard and Marc-André Bergeron recorded more points from the blue line than Tourigny's 176. He also ranks fifth in franchise history in games played (291), regardless of position. Tourigny was remarkably consistent over five seasons, posting point totals of 21, 41, 46, 45 and 55. His final campaign included a midseason trade to Chicoutimi before helping the Saguenéens capture the league championship. He will continue his career at Northeastern University next season. Emmanuel Vermette No player in Saguenéens history has appeared in more games than Vermette, whose 316 career contests are 15 more than Francis Verreault-Paul. Selected 35th overall (second round) in the 2021 QMJHL Entry Draft, Vermette spent his entire five-year junior career in Chicoutimi, finishing with 240 points (103 goals, 137 assists), including a personal-best 69-point season (27 goals, 42 assists) in 2025-26. The team captain then added 10 goals and 7 assists in 20 playoff games, helping the Saguenéens capture the Gilles-Courteau Trophy for the first time in 32 years.
