Haddad and Riendeau suspended
BOUCHERVILLE, Monday, October 13, 2008 The Quebec Major Junior Hockey League's Disciplinary Prefect today imposed suspensions to forwards Yannick Riendeau of Drummondville and Joey Haddad of Cape Breton.
Riendeau is suspended four games for a hit from behind which took place against the Lewiston MAINEiacs last Friday: an automatic one-game suspension and three additional games for the gesture.
Haddad is suspended three games for kneeing an opponent in last Saturday’s contest versus the Rimouski Océanic: an automatic one-game suspension and two additional games for the incident.
The decisions were rendered after reviewing the videotapes of the incidents and consulting all concerned parties. The suspensions are in effect as of today.
In accordance with the QMJHL policy in the matter of disciplinary sanctions, the Disciplinary Prefect will not be available for further comment.
