Description of the organization
The QMJHL holds offices in Boucherville, Quebec. Its mission statement is to develop elite student-athletes in a safe and formative environment to prepare them for their adult lives while ensuring they become responsible and educated citizens. The QMJHL is comprised of 18 teams across five provinces: Quebec (12), New Brunswick (2), Nova Scotia (2), Prince Edward Island (1) and Newfoundland and Labrador (1).
Job description
Under the responsibility of the Vice-President of Hockey Operations and in collaboration with the QMJHL’s events sector, the incumbent is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the hockey sector in addition to facilitating the realization of various events during the year.
The ideal candidate must be independent and rigorous in the accomplishment of tasks with minimal supervision. The person must be flexible and available as he or she may occasionally have to take part in meetings and activities that take place outside of normal business hours.
Main tasks
• Collaborates on a regular basis in hockey-related operations with various stakeholders (therapists, video goal judges, equipment managers, etc.);
• Conducts data research to produce reports and fact-check analysis;
• Prepares various administrative reports and/or updates them;
• Enters and extracts various data related to hockey operations;
• Coordinates the proper functioning of the video replay system in all League arenas;
• Facilitates the deployment of various QMJHL events;
Prerequisite
• Excellent command of the Microsoft Office suite, more specifically Word and Excel;
• Excellent command of French and English, spoken and written;
• Demonstrate initiative and judgment;
• Effective organizational skills;
• A good team player;
• Effectively prioritizes multiple tasks;
• Ability to work in an ever-changing environment without daily supervision;
• Work schedule: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. (minimum 3 days in the office per week) and must be available for certain events outside of regular working hours;
• College diploma or relevant experience;
• Knowledge of AI tools is an asset;
