Our 20’s – Gatineau Olympiques
Throughout the summer, the QMJHL will summarize the journey of its 20-year-old players. Today, those of the Gatineau Olympiques: Jérémie Minville, Julien Paillé and Jordan Taos.
Jérémie Minville, right wing
Captain Minville has led the Olympiques in virtually every individual statistic this season, including points (66), goals (35), assists (31), power-play goals (11), shots (273) and game-winning goals (6). He finished his junior career with 175 points (83-92) in 245 games. A 10th round pick of the Huskies in 2020, Minville spent his 17- and 18-year-old seasons in Rouyn-Noranda before coming out of his shell during his two years in Gatineau, with 145 points (73-72) in 131 games. The right winger will continue his career at Bowling Green State University next season.
Julien Paillé, left wing
Paillé has come full circle this season. Not only did he complete his junior career, but he did it where it began, in Gatineau, who drafted him in the ninth round in 2020. After 15 games with the Olympiques in 2021-2022, Paillé went to play a year in Champlain-Lennoxville, in the Collegiate League, before returning to the QMJHL with the Baie-Comeau Drakkar. Last October, the Drakkar traded him to Gatineau, with whom he amassed 34 points (18-16) in 48 games. His junior career ended with a total of 94 points (49-45) in 132 games, including 53 (27-26) in 63 games with the Drakkar in 2023-2024. That year, he helped his team participate to the Gilles-Courteau Trophy final.
Jordan Taos, defenceman
Taos joined the Olympiques last October after being released by the OHL’s Owen Sound Attack. He spent three full seasons there before recording 34 points (9-25) in 57 games with Gatineau. Only Jan Golicic has done better among the team’s defencemen. Taos had a great junior career for a 12th round pick in the OHL in 2020.
