Our 20’s – Blainville-Boisbriand Armada
Throughout the summer, the QMJHL will summarize the journey of its 20-year-old players. Today, those of the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada: Egor Goriunov, Zakary Lavoie and Emanuelson Charbonneau-Joseph.
Egor Goriunov, left wing
Goriunov, who spent the first three seasons of his junior career in Victoriaville, arrived in Blainville-Boisbriand from Charlottetown in December. He quickly made his mark with the Armada, scoring 24 goals in just 33 games (43 points). The Russian finished his 20-year-old season with 69 points (33-36) in 54 games. He finished tied for second in the QMJHL with 16 power-play goals, and third with 8 game-winning goals. These performances convinced the Laval Rocket to give him a one-year contract for the 2025-2026 season. Goriunov will arrive in the AHL after amassing 182 points (97-85) in 247 games in the Q.
Zakary Lavoie, right wing
Lavoie spent three-and-a-half seasons in the OHL, with Mississauga, Niagara and Brantford, before joining the Armada in January. He had 5 points in 11 games, with a -4 differential. Lavoie will play for Acadia University in Nova Scotia next season.
Emanuelson Charbonneau-Joseph, defenceman
A third-round pick of the Armada in 2020, 44th overall, Charbonneau-Joseph spent three seasons in the BCHL before opting for the QMJHL at 19 years old. In two seasons with the Armada, the towering defenseman collected 41 points (4-37) in 115 games, including 18 in 62 games this season, with a +11 differential. He will continue his studies and career at McGill University next year.
