Linesman Sylvain Losier works in his 1,000th QMJHL game
The Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League would like to highlight the impressive feat achieved by linesman Sylvain Losier, who reached the plateau of 1,000 games worked during the QMJHL regular season during today’s matchup between the Tigres and Armada.
For this very special game, Sylvain’s working partners were referees Élizabeth Mantha and Olivier Gouin, as well as linesman Nicolas Boivin. During his 32-season career in the QMJHL, Sylvain has also had the chance to work in 238 playoff games, for a grand total of 1,238 games to date.
Sylvain Losier becomes just the fifth official to reach 1,000 regular-season games since the creation of the QMJHL back in 1969. He joins the following officials: Éric Charron, Nicolas Dutil, Daniel Béchard and Marc Muylaert.
What’s more, Losier has been selected to work in the Gilles-Courteau Trophy Final 18 times in his career to this day. In addition to this rare plateau for an official, Sylvain has been recognized for his excellent work by being selected for numerous prestigious events.
