Moncton picks up the win in Halifax to make it 12 in a row!
The Wildcats extended their winning streak to twelve games with a 5-1 victory over the Halifax Mooseheads, Sunday at Scotiabank Centre.
Benoit-Olivier Groulx and Jared McIsaac both scored against their former team. Groulx, Gabriel Fortier, Mika Cyr and Alexander Khovanov all had a goal and an assist each.
Groulx scores the only goal of the opening period, a power play strike more than ten minutes in.
Cyr made it a 2-0 six minutes into the second.
Khovanov and Fortier scored ninety seconds apart with under seven minutes left in the period to extend Moncton’s lead to 4-0.
Halifax netted its only goal a short time later, but Fortier restored the four-goal lead before the end of the period.
Goalie Dakota Lund-Cornish kicked out 21 shots in the triumph.
