Going to game seven!
With everything on the line, the Wildcats battle through game six to come out with a 3-1 road victory over the Drakkar to force game seven in this first round 2019 QMJHL playoff series.
Pegged as the underdog coming into this series, Moncton have proven themselves over again, winning in the big games and battling through injury to some of our top players.
In the hostile Drakkar arena the Wildcats got the first goal tonight at 8:18 of the first on the power play, courtesy of Alexander Khovanov with his third of the series! Moncton would go onto score once a period to give the Cats a 3-1 final!
Wildcats forward Jakob Pelletier had been out of the lineup since game one of this series and made his return last night, which did not go unnoticed. At 13:58 of the second Pelletier slid one past D’Orio for his first of the post-season, which would end up as the game winner.
In the dying minute of the second the Drakkar broke the shutout, but that one goal was it for them on the night. With D’Orio out of the net for the extra attacker in the third, McKenna found the empty net to get the insurance goal and take this game 3-1.
Pushing through Moncton put on another impressive performance, battling through their continued adversity. Leclerc was in nets for the win with 33 saves on the night, and was named first star for the third time in this series!
Game seven will start at 8:30 p.m. AST in Baie-Comeau, listen live with Tim Roszell on Harvesters FM CITA!
