10 straight wins for Moncton! Océanic 3 Wildcats 4
Jakob Pelletier scored 2:40 into overtime and the Wildcats extended their winning streak to ten games with a 4-3 victory over the Rimouski Oceanic, Wednesday at Avenir Centre.
Jeremy McKenna scored twice in a four-point game while Jordan Spence also found the net. Tristan De Jong chipped in with two assists.
A Rimouski power play goal put the visitors up 1-0 late in the first period.
McKenna tied the game 36 seconds into the second, but another Oceanic strike on the man-advantage midway through the period made it 2-1 through forty minutes.
Spence evened the score again with a power play strike for Moncton four-and-a-half minutes into the third.
McKenna gave the Wildcats their first lead halfway though the frame, but the Oceanic struck with three minutes remaining, creating the need for 3-on-3 overtime.
Pelletier drove down the right wing and rifled a wrist shot past the blocker of Rimouski goalie Colten Ellis for the game-winner.
The Oceanic saw their 12-game winning streak come to an end. The Wildcats now have points in 16 straight games.
