Wildcats add some Czechs to the mix at Import Draft
The Moncton Wildcats added a couple Czechia-born players to the squad today, drafting a defenseman and a forward with their selections.
The Wildcats selected defender Ales Zielinski with their 1st Round CHL import pick. The 6’1″, 187 lb 17 year-old split last season between HC Ocelari Trinec U17 & U20.
Ales has been described as “an inteligent defender with good passing and hockey IQ. He is a complete defender, plays hard, and also upside offensively.”
Our 2nd Round CHL import pick is 2006-born forward Sebastian Glas — 5’11, 163 lbs. Sebastian played last season with HC Vitkovice and has represented his country many times internationally.
Many scouts feel that Sebastian “is a smart player with good skating and hockey IQ. His leading attributes are playmaking and passing with good stickhandling. He is a great team player.”
