WEDNESDAY READ: Titan hold top 10 spot; Holwell named Titan Ambassador

Acadie-Bathurst continues to anchor a top 10 spot within Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League. As of Tuesday morning, the Titan is holding seventh overall with 32 points in league standings.
Drummondville (21-15-1-1) is first overall with 44 points, followed by Moncton (120-4-2-0) in second with 42 and Rimouski (19-7-0-1) in third with 39 points.
Rouyn-Noranda (15-5-2-4) and Chicoutimi (15-5-3-3) are in the fourth and fifth, respectively with 36 points each and Baie-Comeau (16-8-1-1) is in sixth with 34 points. Bathurst (16-10-0-0) and Sherbrooke (15-9-0-2) are seventh and eighth with 32 points each, and Blainville-Boisbriand (15-10-1-0) in nineth with 31. Shawinigan (14-11-0-1) is tenth in league standing with 29 points.
Moncton is first in the Maritimes Division, followed by Bathurst in second, Saint John (26) in third, Cape Breton (25) in fourth, Halifax (23) in fifth and Charlottetown (22) in sixth.
Holwell Titan Ambassador
Saturday evening Acadie-Bathurst introduced and celebrated QMJHL Veteran’s Club Titan Ambassador, Adam Holwell. The gritty defenceman competed for the Titan from 2016 to 2018, winning the 2018 President Cup and Memorial Cup. Holwell competed for the St. Francis University men’s hockey program for five years, before going on to play hockey in Europe. He is now an assistant coach with the St. FX men’s program.
Dwyer, Team CHL win prospect challenge
Acadie-Bathurst Titan General Manager and Head Coach, Gordie Dwyer, was an assistant coach for Team CHL at the CHL USA Prospects Challenge. The two-game series was held Nov. 26 at Canada Life Place in London, and Nov. 27 at the Tribute Communities Centre in Oshawa. Team CHL won both games (6-1 and 3-2) to take the series.
Student of the Month
Acadie-Bathurst Titan forward, Blake Pilgrim-Edwards was named the Student of the Month for November. The 19-year-old from Nova Scotia is studying business at Acadia University and received his Student Athlete of the Month certificate from Academic Advisor, Denise Ouellet, Friday night.
Weekend split against Eagles
Bathurst split a pair of games against Cape Breton this past weekend. The Titan won 3-1 Friday night at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre, but lost 4-2 at home Saturday.
Goal scorers for Bathurst Friday were Colby Huggan, Blake Pilgrim-Edwards and Noah Laberge. Emile Perron finished the night with three points, and Tyson Goguen and Mathieu St-Onge had a point each in the victory. Huggan and Laberge were named the second and third stars, respectively for their goals in Friday’s win. With three assists, Perron was named the first Star of the Game.
Goal scorers for Bathurst Saturday afternoon were Dawson Sharkey and Goguen. Goguen finished the night with two points, and Perron, St-Onge and Maddex Marmulak each had a point. Goguen was named the first Star of the Game, and Marmulak was named third star.
Titan among league leaders
Six Titan players have cracked top five league leader categories. Josh Fleming is third in save percentage (0.925) and fourth in win (14); Huggan is third in game winning goals (four) and Pilgrim-Edwards is fourth in short handed goals (two). In penalty minutes, a trio of Titan are in the top five. Sharkey and Harry Clements are second and third, respectively with 42 minutes each, and Alexandre Lallier in fifth (36).

On the road
The Titan will travel to the Port City, Wednesday, Dec. 4 when they faceoff against the Saint John Sea Dogs.
Game time is 7 p.m. at TD Station.

Bathurst will host the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies Friday, Dec. 6 at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre.
