Second period goals sink Titan in loss to Mooseheads
BATHURST – The Acadie-Bathurst Titan finished up a five-game home stand with the Halifax Mooseheads in town on Sunday afternoon. Former Titan players Antoine Morand, Jordan Maher, and Samuel Asselin made their return to Bathurst with the Mooseheads.
There were no goals to speak of in the first period but the Mooseheads lead the shots 11-7. In the second period the Mooseheads took control of the game. Jared McIsaac scored the eventual game-winner at 7:35 giving Halifax a 1-0 lead. Benoit-Olivier Groulx followed that with two goals of his own at 9:00 and 11:24 to extend the advantage to 3-0. Raphael Lavoie wrapped up second period scoring with a goal at 16:37. It was 4-0 Halifax through 40 minutes of play.
Ben Higgins added one in the third as the Mooseheads skated away with a 5-0 victory. Michal Ivan was named second star for the Titan while first and third star honours went to Alexis Gravel and Benoit-Olivier Groulx of the Mooseheads.
