PRESS RELEASE: Titan ready to defend The River in pre-season action
The Acadie-Bathurst Titan is pleased to announce the Miramichi Timberwolves will host a Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League pre-season match-up on The River later this month. On Aug. 23 the Titan will faceoff against Maritime rivals, the Charlottetown Islanders at the Miramichi Civic Centre.
Every year the Titan is proud to provide communities within its region the opportunity to host a pre-season game. Last year, Acadie-Bathurst was fortunate to hit the ice at Centre Jean-Daigle in Edmundston, the Miramichi Civic Centre and Centre Culturel de Saint-Quentin.
The City of Miramichi and surrounding region is known for its love of hockey, baseball and sports overall. On the ice it’s produced talent from The Malone’s to Matt Doherty, Lindsey Donovan, Daniel Moody, David Doucet, Maxwell Jardine and countless others. It’s a city steeped in hockey history and the Titan is excited to once again enjoy the electric atmosphere in The ‘Chi.
“The vibe last season in Miramichi was amazing. The crowd was phenomenal, the hockey was great, and to top it off we finished the night with a win. Players and staff were buzzing about how great the atmosphere was at the Civic Centre, and we’re excited to experience it again this season. We’re ready to Giver on The River,” said Titan Director of Marketing, Erin White.
Miramichi Timberwolves President, Paulin Savoie said he believes the match-up between the Titan and Islanders will bring “incredible excitement and showcase high-caliber hockey” to Miramichi Timberwolves fans. Savoie said he’s confident the community will “come out in full force to support and enjoy this exciting game.”
“We are thrilled to welcome the Acadie-Bathurst Titan and Charlottetown Islanders to the Civic Centre in Miramichi,” said Savoie.
