PRESS RELEASE: Titan partner with Interfor for One Goal, One Tree initiative
The Acadie-Bathurst Titan and Interfor are excited to announce the return of a community-driven environmental project. This season the One Goal, One Tree initiative will once again take root in northern New Brunswick.
The project – which is a partnership between the Titan and Interfor – will see one tree planted for every goal Acadie-Bathurst Titan players score throughout the 2024-25 Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League regular season.
The inaugural Titan One Goal, One Tree project began during the 2021-22 Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League season. Over the course of two years, the project resulted in more than 400 trees planted in the Chaleur region.
“We are thrilled to bring back the One Goal, One Tree initiative to the Chaleur region. This program is a great partnership with Interfor and will help contribute to a better, greener environment in our community. To top it all off, with the scoring talent we have on the roster, we know there will be a lot of trees planted in the post-season,” said Titan Director of Marketing and Game Day Operation, Erin White.
“Interfor is proud to participate with the Acadie-Bathurst Titan with their One Goal, One Tree initiative. Interfor plants more than seven million trees a year in N.B., helping promote a healthy forest for the future,” said Interfor Woodlands Manager, Andrew Barrieau.
The Acadie-Bathurst Titan will host the Cape Breton Eagles Friday, Sept. 20 when the puck drops on the 2024-25 QMJHL Home Opener. The Titan will host the Eagles Saturday in the second of back-to-back games this weekend at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre.
Both games are at 7 p.m.
