Olympiques score four in the second to defeat Titan
BATHURST – The Acadie-Bathurst Titan were back at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre as they kicked off a five-game home stand against the Gatineau Olympiques. In their only visit to Bathurst this season, the Olympiques scored four goals in the middle period to pick up a 4-1 win over the Titan.
In what was a very quiet opening 20 minutes both teams weren’t able to create many chances and the score remained 0-0 after one. Shawn Boudrias opened the scoring 1:02 into the second period to give the visitors the lead. David Aebischer, Jeffrey Durocher, and Charles-Antoine Roy all added singles for the Olympiques later in the frame to extend the lead. Kristian Kovacik’s first career goal got the home side on the board but they trailed 4-1 through 40 minutes of play.
Much like the first, the third period saw no goals scored as the Olympiques skated away with a 4-1 victory. Mark Grametbauer and Tyriq Outen combined for 25 saves in the loss. Outen entered the game to start the third stopping all nine shots he faced after Grametbauer allowed four goals on 20 shots.
