MONDAY RECAP: Dwyer celebrates major milestone, Titan on Team Canada

The Titan is among the top 10 in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League. Bathurst (11-6-0-0) is sixth overall in league standings, and second in the Maritimes Division.
The Moncton Wildcats are in the top spot Monday morning, posting a 13-2-2-0 record for 28 points in 17 games. Drummondville (13-3-1-1), which has 28 points in 18 games, is in second, followed by Chicoutimi (10-3-2-2) in third with 24 points.
Baie-Comeau (11-5-1-0) and Rouyn-Noranda (9-3-2-3) move into the fourth and fifth spots, respectively with 23 points apiece, followed by the Titan in sixth with 22 points. Rimouski takes the seventh spot with 21 points, followed by Saint John in eight with 20 points.
In the Maritimes Division, Wildcats top the charts, followed by the Titan, Sea Dogs, Halifax in fourth (8-7-2-0), Cape Breton in fifth (8-7-0-1) and Charlottetown in sixth (4-11-1-1).
Titan split weekend
The Acadie-Bathurst Titan split a pair of games this weekend. They pulled away with a 6-4 win over Val-d’Or, before losing 3-1 the following night against Rimouski.
Bathurst hosted the Foreurs Friday night at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre. Goal scorers for the Titan were Maddex Marmulak, David-Alexandre Coulombe, Blake Pilgrim-Edwards, Will Reynolds, Noah Laberge and Dawson Sharkey.
Overall, Val-d’Or scored one goal in the first and three in the third, while the home side scored a trio of goals in the first and another three in the final frame.
Val-d’Or and Bathurst finished the night with 34 shots on goal. Pilgrim-Edwards picked up the First Stars of the Game (one goal and two assists at plus-three), and Marmulak was named third star with a goal and an assist at plus-two.
The Titan faced off against the Oceanic Saturday night at Colisée Financière Sun Life. Louis-François Bélanger scored the lone goal for the Titan, which he netted in the first period. Rimouski scored a pair of goals in the second and one in the third for the win.
The Oceanic outshot the Titan 38-22 by the end of the night. Bathurst netminder Mathis Langevin was named the third Star of the Game for stopping 35 of 38 shots on goal.
Titan at World U17 Hockey Challenge
Matthew Smith, Titan Director of Hockey Operations and Video Coach, and Titan Prospect, Antoine Proulx are at the World U17 Hockey Challenge.
Smith is a Video Coach for Team Canada, and Proulx will suit-up between the pipes for Team Canada White. The international tournament in Sarnia, Ont., will run from Nov. 3-9.
Proulx, 16, competes for Lévis Chevaliers in the QM18AAA. The Titan drafted him 23rd overall in the second round of the 2024 QMJHL Entry Draft.
Dwyer celebrates 500 games milestone
Titan General Manager and Head Coach, Gordie Dwyer coached his 500th career game in the Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League, Saturday night. Dwyer reached the milestone – the 30th coach in the league’s history to do so – as Bathurst took on the Rimouski Oceanic.
Titan Trick-or-Treat in town
Acadie-Bathurst Titan players celebrated Halloween in Parkwood Thursday night. Titan players stopped for photos, signed autographs and handed out candy and colouring books to little Trick-or-Treaters!
Fleming gets honourable mention
The QMJHL released it’s Players of the Month for October over the weekend, and Titan netminder Joshua Fleming made the cut with an honourable mention.
Drummondville’s Riley Mercer (9-2-0-0) was named the Goaltender of the Month. Mercer, who recorded a shutout this month, has 1.91 goals against average, a .945 save percentage.
Fleming (9-3-0-0), who also has a shutout, was tapped with the Honourable Mention for his 2.29 goals against average and a save percentage of .927.
Trio of Titan among league leaders
Fleming continues to hold a spot within the top five for goalies across the league. Fleming is fourth in goals against average (2.42), fourth in save percentage (0.923) and second in wins (10).
Mathieu St-Onge continues to lead the league in short handed goals (two), and Alexandre Lallier if fourth in penalty minutes with 25.
Langevin named Student of the Month
Titan netminder Mathis Langevin was named the Titan Student of the Month for October. The six-foot-four, 181-pound netminder is in Formation Générale with CÉGEP à distance.
