GAME RECAP: Titan topple Armada in shootout thriller

The Titan toppled the Armada in a shootout thriller Thursday night in QMJHL action. The home pulled away with a 6-5 win over Blainville-Boisbriand at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre in front of a roaring crowd.
Goal scorers for Acadie-Bathurst were David-Alexandre Coulombe, Colby Huggan, Noah Laberge, Dawson Sharkey and Alexandre Lallier. Xavier Villeneuve, Egor Goriunov, Justin Carbonneau and Éliot L’Italien – who had a pair of goals – scored for the visitors.
The Armada found the back of the net once in the first (Litalien with a shorthanded goal at 10:22) and a trio of goals in the second (Villeneuve at 9:08 followed by L’Italien at 11:24 and Goriunov at 15:10, both on the power play) Thursday night. Carbonneau scored on the powerplay at 9:56 in the final frame.
Acadie-Bathurst had a pair in the first (Coulombe at 13:55 and Huggan at 15:13), and one goal in the second (Laberge on the powerplay at 18:13). In the third period, Sharkey registered his goal at 14:02, before Lallier went on to tie the game with two seconds left at 19:58.
Following a scoreless overtime, Huggan and Maddex Marmulak scored in the shootout against Armada goalie Vincent Gladu. Josh Fleming denied both of Blainville’s shootout attempts.
Mathieu St-Onge had two assists and was named the third Star of the Game and L’Italien, who had a pair of goals, was named the second star. Emile Perron finish the night with three assists and was named the first Star of the Game.
