GAME RECAP: Titan down Moose with electric overtime win

A thrilling overtime win lifted the Acadie-Bathurst Titan over the Halifax Mooseheads Friday night in QMJHL action. The home side pulled away with a 4-3 victory after Emile Perron netted the OT winner in front of an ecstatic crowd at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre.
The Mooseheads had a trio of goals in the first period to take an early lead over Bathurst. Braeden MacPhee registered the opening goal a little over a minute into the period, followed by back-to-back goals from Callum Aucoin at the 5:03 and 5:23 minute marks.
Following a scoreless second period, Tyson Goguen netted a pair of goals in the third (10:08 and 19:38) to bring the home side within a point of Halifax. With three seconds left in regulation time, Colby Huggan tied the game at 19:57 to close the final frame 3-3 heading into overtime.
Perron went on to score the game winning goal at 2:18 in OT.
Aucoin finished the night with two goals and named the third Star of the Game. Huggan had two points and was named second star, and with a pair of goals in Friday’s win, Goguen was named the first star.
