GAME RECAP: Sharkey’s hat-trick powers Titan past Cataractes
The Titan defeated the Shawinigan Cataractes Friday night in Bathurst, securing a 5-2 victory at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre.
Dawson Sharkey recorded his first career hat-trick, while Colby Huggan added a goal for the Titan. Brogan McNeil and Kody Dupuis found the back of the net for Shawinigan.
The home team struck twice in the first period—Sharkey at 10:22 and Huggan at 14:16—before adding two more in the second, with Sharkey scoring at 7:50 and again on the power play at 19:58. Émile Perron sealed the win with an empty-net goal at 19:45 of the third. Josh Fleming turned aside 27 shots in the victory.
Shawinigan responded with a goal in the opening frame from McNeil (15:28) and another in the second period from Dupuis on the power play (5:25). Owen Bresson made 32 saves in the loss.
Huggan finished with a goal and an assist, earning Third Star honors. Noah Laberge contributed two assists and was named the Second Star, while Sharkey’s hat-trick secured him the First Star.

The Titan will host the Charlottetown Islanders on Sunday, Feb. 16, at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre. The team will wear special jerseys designed by Noah Landry as part of the CHL Jersey Contest, and Maximus’ birthday will also be celebrated during the weekend matinee.
