GAME RECAP: Huggan scores winner as Titan top Olympiques in shootout

The Titan beat the Gatineau Olympiques in a shootout Sunday afternoon in Bathurst. The home side pulled away with a 6-5 win in extra time at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre.
Goal scorers for Bathurst were Tyson Goguen, Jayden Lazare, Mavrick Brunet, Mathieu St-Onge, Maddex Marmulak and Colby Huggan. Jérémie Dumas-Larouche, Justin Blais, Jérémie Minville, Taos Jordan and Jacob Kaine netted goals for Gatineau.
The home side scored one goal in the first period (Goguen at the 14-minute mark), and four in the second (Lazare at 4:03, Brunet at 9:51, St-Onge on the power play at 11:54 and Marmulak at 14:37). Josh Fleming denied all three of Gatineau’s attempts in the shootout, while Huggan netted the game-winning goal to secure Bathurst’s victory on Sunday.
Gatineau, who didn’t see any goals in the first 20 minutes, went on to score the bulk of their goals in the second period. Dumas-Larouche scored the Olympiques first goal of the night on the power play at 3:29 in the second period, Blais and Minville netted theirs at 4:23 and 8:16 respectively, and Jordan scored at 12:43 for the visitors. Kaine had the game-tying goal at 6:49 in the third period.
Isaiah Parent had two assists for Gatineau and was named the third Star of the Game. Marmulak had two points and a plus/minus of plus-one, was named the second star. Lazare had a goal and an assist at plus-three and was named the first Star of the Game.
