Internship: Game Day Representative
Duration: All 34 Saint John Sea Dogs Home Games
Location: TD Station – Saint John, New Brunswick, Canada
Are you a student who is passionate about hockey, looking to gain hands-on experience, and get your foot in the door in the sports industry? The Saint John Sea Dogs are looking for Game Day Representatives for the 2023-24 season.
As a Game Day Representative for the Sea Dogs, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring a smooth and enjoyable experience for fans, media personnel, and visitors during all 34 home games. You will be stationed at various key locations, including Sea Dogs Central and the Sea Dogs Foundation table, and will be responsible for answering inquiries, engaging with fans, selling raffle tickets, assisting with media needs, and contributing to the overall success of the game day operations.
This position offers a unique opportunity to be the face of the organization and contribute to the vibrant atmosphere of Sea Dogs home games.
Responsibilities
- Sea Dogs Central:
- Be the welcoming face of the organization by greeting fans, answering questions, and providing information about the team, schedule, promotions, and more.
- Distribute prizes and promotional items to fans during the games.
- Create a positive and engaging atmosphere for fans by interacting and building rapport with attendees.
- Sea Dogs Foundation Table:
- Promote and sell raffle tickets for a chance to win prizes, with proceeds supporting the Sea Dogs Foundation initiatives.
- Explain the raffle rules and details to visitors and encourage their participation.
- Media Assistance:
- Assist with the setup and coordination of the press box area, ensuring that media personnel have everything they need for coverage during the game.
- Address any issues or concerns that media personnel might have and provide a high level of customer service.
- Write game recaps and assist with other content as needed.
- Sea Dogs Store:
- Receive training to handle aspects of the Sea Dogs Store operations in case of staff shortages or unavailability.
- Assist fans in purchasing merchandise and promote team-related products.
Qualifications
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- Friendly, outgoing, and enthusiastic personality.
- Strong customer service orientation and the ability to interact positively with fans, media, and colleagues.
- Ability to work effectively under pressure and handle busy game day environments.
- Reliable and punctual, with the availability to work all 34 home games.
- Basic math skills for handling raffle ticket sales and cash transactions.
Training
All candidates will receive comprehensive training on Sea Dogs Central operations, raffle ticket sales procedures, media assistance protocols, and Sea Dogs Store operations to ensure a well-rounded understanding of all game day responsibilities.
