RECAP: Sea Dogs swept in season series with another loss to Regiment
ST. JOHN’S, N.L. – The Saint John Sea Dogs dropped back-to-back games against the Newfoundland Regiment, falling 5-1 on Thursday night.
Benjamin Veitch opened the scoring for Newfoundland with a power play marker at 6:29. Blake Pilgrim-Edwards and Justin Larose each added a goal before the end of the first period. Saint John outshot the Regiment 11-10 after one.
At 1:49 of the second, Alexis Joseph finished a play set up by Bo Damphousse and Jabez Seymour to get the Sea Dogs on the board. With two minutes left in the period, Maddex Marmulak scored on the man advantage to restore Newfoundland’s three-goal cushion. Saint John led 22-21 in shots after two but trailed 4-1 on the scoreboard.
Louis-François Bélanger added one more at 17:33 of the third to close out the scoring.
