RECAP: Sea Dogs score early and often in big win over Islanders
CHARLOTTETOWN, P.E.I. – The Saint John Sea Dogs came out flying Saturday night at the Eastlink Centre and never took their foot off the gas, beating the Charlottetown Islanders 7-3.
Saint John buried four in the first period. Olivers Murnieks opened the scoring at 8:07, Dylan Rozzi added a power play strike at 9:14, and Alex Donovan blasted another on the man advantage at 12:17. Zach Morin capped the frame with a short handed finish at 15:20 to make it 4-0 after twenty.
Charlottetown pulled one back on a power play in the second, but the Dogs answered quickly. Rozzi tucked his second of the night at 2:54 and Angelo Fullerton wired a power play goal at 10:32. Morin added his second short handed marker early in the third to put it away. The Islanders added two late power play goals, but the result wasn’t in doubt.
