RECAP: Rozzi’s goal not enough as Sea Dogs fall to Quebec
QUEBEC, QC – Despite a highlight-reel goal from rookie Dylan Rozzi, the Saint John Sea Dogs fell to the Quebec Remparts 2-1 at the Centre Videotron on Friday night. The loss evens the Sea Dogs record at 10-10-0-0.
Justin Côté was the standout for the Remparts, scoring both goals.
GAME SUMMARY
Just four minutes into the first period, Remparts captain Justin Côté opened the scoring as the puck trickled over the goal line to put Québec up 1-0 after Charles-Edward Gravel made the initial save.
With under five minutes left in the second period, Benjamin Vigneault set up Côté for a one-timer that sailed just under the bar, extending the Remparts lead. A little over a minute later, Nate Tivey launched a hail mary pass from deep in the Sea Dogs zone to Dylan Rozzi who broke in alone and beat Louis-Antoine Denault, closing the gap to 2-1.
The Sea Dogs pulled their goaltender for an extra attacker in the final minutes of the third period, but were unable to find the equalizer.
