RECAP: Islanders roll past Sea Dogs at TD Station
SAINT JOHN, N.B. – The Saint John Sea Dogs fell 8-2 to the Charlottetown Islanders at TD Station on Friday night. They’ll return to action tomorrow night against the Cape Breton Eagles.
Charlottetown opened the scoring at 3:37 and made it 2-0 at 11:23. Saint John answered on the power play at 12:44 when Olivers Murnieks finished a feed from Olivier Groulx. The Islanders restored the two-goal lead at 13:43 and led 3-1 after one.
The visitors added another at 10:44 of the second and struck again with two seconds left in the frame to go up 5-1 after 40 minutes.
Early in the third, Charlottetown converted on the power play at 3:22. Saint John responded 24 seconds later when Alexis Joseph scored from Everett Baldwin and Olivier Duhamel to cut it to 6-2. The Islanders added two late goals at 16:59 and 18:24 to close it out 8-2.
