SYDNEY, N.S. – The Saint John Sea Dogs got their revenge Friday night at Centre 200, coming back to beat the Cape Breton Eagles 4-3 in a shootout. Jamie Glance and Alex Donovan both scored in regulation time and converted again in the shootout to secure Saint John’s second win of the season.

Donovan opened the scoring at 14:44 of the first to give Saint John a 1-0 lead. The Eagles applied plenty of pressure, but the Dogs carried the advantage into the first intermission.

Just 1:52 into the second, Glance extended the lead to 2-0. Cape Breton responded with three unanswered goals, starting with Derek Andrews at 6:50. Elias Schneider tied it at 12:48 before Liam Lefebvre scored on the power play at 14:00 to put the Eagles ahead 3-2. Cape Breton led 32-12 in shots after two.

Saint John tied the game in the third to force overtime, where neither side could find the winner.

The game went to a shootout, where Glance started it off with a goal and Donovan found the back of the net in round three to seal the 4-3 victory for the Sea Dogs.
