American forward Egan Beveridge commits to Sea Dogs
SAINT JOHN – Saint John Sea Dogs general manager Anthony Stella announced on Wednesday that the team has received a commitment from American forward Egan Beveridge.
Beveridge, a native of East Kingston, New Hampshire, was a point-per-game player at the 2023 USA Hockey 15’s National Championships and is currently attending USA Hockey’s BioSteel Boys 16 Player Development Camp.
The five-foot-eight tenacious forward was selected in the second round, 30th overall, by the Sea Dogs at the 2023 QMJHL Draft, making him the highest drafted American since 2015.
“I’m super excited to sign with an organization like the Sea Dogs,” said Beveridge. “I can’t wait to get to Saint John, meet all of my teammates and finally get started.”
Last season, Beveridge played for the Chicago Mission of the High Performance Hockey League (HPHL) where he registered 16 points in 10 regular season games and 10 points in five playoff games. In 2021-2022, Beveridge registered 103 points in 62 games for Mount St. Charles Academy.
“We’re thrilled to announce that Egan and the Beveridge family have officially committed to join the Sea Dogs organization,” said Sea Dogs general manager Anthony Stella. “To add a player of Egan’s caliber to our team is a major step towards the continued success of this franchise.”
“When a player like Egan who has many options chooses our program to develop as a player, student and person we take great pride and responsibility in that. Today is a great day for this team and we will work hard to continue with this momentum,” added Stella.
