Titan sale will be 100%
The new owners of the Acadie-Bathurst Titan will retain sole ownership of the team. Co-owner Annie Morrissette announced this morning that she and brother Stéphane will each have 50% of the team under the new company’s name “Le Titan Acadie-Bathurst Inc”. The new company is now formed, with the process now being the transfer of all assets.
During the press conference announcing the sale on March 9th, outgoing owner Léo-Guy Morrissette had stated his interest in retaining 2% of the team, with 49% going to siblings Stéphane and Annie. Both parties have now agreed on a complete transfer of assets.
“It was important for Stéphane and I to have 100% ownership, this to clearly identify the team’s new structure and direction”, mentioned Annie Morrissette this morning. “While we understand Léo-Guy’s wish to retain the 2% interest so he could act as mediator in case of possible disagreements between Stéphane and I, we are completely at ease in managing the team without conflict. My role will be on the administrative / management side while Stéphane will be involved in the sales and hockey operations side as an assistant to Sylvain Couturier. This will assure an equitable business relationship”.
The sale will be completed on May 31st with the final document signings.
Doucet on Advisory Board
Michel “Chico” Doucet from Bathurst has accepted the invitation to join the team’s Advisory Board. Employed by Sysco, Doucet is greatly involved in youth amateur sports in the Chaleur region. He joins the 5 other members announced to the board last week.
