WEEKEND RECAP: Titan fall to Huskies, Val-d’Or in road swing
The Titan finished their road swing through Quebec this past week with a pair of back-to-back losses against Rouyn-Noranda and Val-d’Or. The Huskies beat Acadie-Bathurst 11-0 at Aréna Glencore Thursday night, and the Foreurs won 5-1 the following night at Centre Agnico Eagle.
Val-d’Or scored a pair of goals in the first period Friday, one in the second, and another pair in the final frame. The Titan scored their first and only goal in the third period and outshot the Foreurs 29-28.
Milo Roelens scored the lone goal for Bathurst, with Igor Mburanumwe and Noah Laberge picking up the assist.
Thursday night the Huskies took a seven-goal lead in the first period, before scoring three goals in the second and one in the third to win the game 11-0 over Bathurst.
The Titan kicked-off their four-game road swing last week with a 7-5 win over the Moncton Wildcats on Feb. 3, but were edged out of a win Feb. 6 with a 3-2 loss to Gatineau.
With a 23-24-3-2 record for 51 points in 52 games, Bathurst is currently 11th overall in league standings and fourth in the Maritimes Division.
Acadie-Bathurst will host Blainville-Boisbriand when the Armada sail into town Friday night, and then faceoff against the Olympiques Sunday afternoon at the K.C. Irving Regional Centre.
Puck drops at 7 p.m. Friday against Blainville-Boisbriand.
