Newfoundland Regiment Names Broadcast Team for Inaugural QMJHL Season
St. John’s, NL – The Newfoundland Regiment Hockey Club is proud to announce its inaugural broadcast hires for the 2025-26 QMJHL season: Seth Hyde will serve as the club’s primary play-by-play announcer, with Newfoundland and Labrador hockey icon Brian Rogers set to support Seth with colour commentary and by providing play-by-play for select games this season.
Hyde, a rising voice in Canadian minor hockey at just 17 years old, brings a passion for the game that started early when he began calling hockey games at the age of 12. An alumni of the NHL Power Players Youth Advisory Board, Hyde has spent years honing his craft and providing insightful, energetic commentary at various levels of the game.
Rogers is a household name in Newfoundland and Labrador sports, having spent decades behind the mic covering the province’s top teams including the St. John’s Maple Leafs, St. John’s Fog Devils, St. John’s IceCaps, Newfoundland Growlers and most recently the St. John’s Senior Caps. His voice, knowledge, and passion are beloved by generations of hockey fans across our province.
“Seth and Brian represent the perfect blend of fresh energy and deep experience,” said Glenn Stanford, President of the Newfoundland Regiment. “Seth is one of the most exciting young voices in hockey, and Brian Rogers is a beloved name in this province. Their chemistry, insight, and passion will make every broadcast something to look forward to.”
“Calling games for the Newfoundland Regiment is a dream come true,” said Seth Hyde. “To be part of this team from day one—and to do it alongside a legend like Brian Rogers—is something really special. I can’t wait to bring fans into the action every step of the way.”
“I’m thrilled to be part of this exciting new chapter of hockey history,” said Brian Rogers. “It’s an honour to share the Regiment’s journey alongside Seth and with hockey fans across the province.”
Further additions to the Hockey Clubs broadcast team will be announced in the coming weeks.
All home and away games will be streamed live on FloSports and the Newfoundland Regiment Internet Radio Network. The action starts on September 18 at the Mary Brown’s Centre – secure your full-season or partial-season tickets today at mbcentre.ca.
