The Acadie-Bathurst Titan is pleased to announce a new hire among our Hockey Operations staff, as we welcome Equipment Manager, Tyler Jay.
Jay joins the Titan after spending more than five years with the Saint John Sea Dogs. He had been the Head Equipment Manager since 2019-20 with the divisional opponent. Jay won a President Cup (2017) and Memorial Cup (2022) with Saint John. Originally from Charlottetown, Prince Edward Island, Jay’s other accolades include but are not limited to being the Equipment Manager for Canada at the U20 World Junior Championships (2023-24). He was also the Equipment Manager for Canada White U17 at the World Under-17 Hockey Challenge (2021-22) and Canada U18 at the Hlinka Gretzky Cup (2022-23).
“We are excited to bring Tyler into our organization” commented Titan General Manager and Head Coach, Gordie Dwyer. “His experience working with elite junior players at the club and national team levels will help to prepare our players for the season and the next level.”
Meanwhile, the Titan is also pleased to announce four members of the Hockey Operations staff will join Titan General Manager and Head Coach, Gordie Dwyer, behind the bench again this season. Assistant Coaches, Dylan Beston and Rory Dynan, as well as Athletic Therapist, Megan Sullivan, and Director of Hockey Operations and Video Coach, Matthew Smith, have renewed their contracts.
This fall will mark Smith’s fifth year with Acadie-Bathurst, since joining the organization during the 2020-21 season. Sullivan, who is an alumnus of the UPEI women’s hockey program, is entering her fourth year as the Titan Athletic Therapist. Beston has coached alongside Dwyer in the past, including in the Kontinental Hockey League, and both he and Dynan are entering their second season with Bathurst.
The Acadie-Bathurst Titan organization is dedicated to driving the development of its players, including their on-ice performance, their education, and their roles as young leaders in the community.
Titan management have their sights set for the upcoming QMJHL Draft on June 7-8 in Moncton, N.B. As it stands leading into draft week, the Titan own 18 selections, including two in the first round.
