An almost spectacular comeback.
This afternoon, the Titan was squaring off against the Halifax Mooseheads at the K.-C. Irving Regional Centre.
The first period was pretty much uneventful, beside a power play on each side not much else to talk about. The score was 0-0 after 20 minutes of play.
In the second period, the Titan got totally outplayed and that’s putting it gently. Halifax took a 6-0 lead with a domination in shots, 16 to 5, and a lack of effort from the home team.
However in the 3rd period the Titan showed a lot of character and efford. The impossible not to say miracle that nobody was predicting came really close to happen. Ludovic Kabambi (6th), Olivier Houle (3rd), Sébastien Trudeau (26th and career 100th), Zach O’Brien (46th and 47th) brought the team to within one goal of tying things up, with 1:05 left in the 3rd period. Acadie-Bathurst tried everything with an extra skater and with one second left Zach O’Brien hit the post. Titan lost the game 6 to 5 despite a nice comeback try.
Robert Steeves stopped 14 of the 18 shots directed his way before being replaced by Jacob Brennan, who stopped 7 of 9 shots.
Four Titan players had a multiple point 3rd period. Zach O’Brien had 2 goals and 1 assist, Matthew Bissonnette had 3 assists, Sébastien Trudeau and Ludovic Kabambi had 1 goal and an assit. Robert Davis delivered 5 hits to lead his team in that category.
Titan next game is this Wednesday February 22nd as they travel to Rimouski to face the Océanics.
