Guillaume Gauthier named the third star of the week in the QMJHL

BOUCHERVILLE, Monday, November 9, 2015 – Nikolas Brouillard, Evgeny Svechnikov and Guillaume Gauthier were named today the three stars of the week for November 2nd to 8, 2015.

Quebec Remparts defenseman, Nikolas Brouillard, is the first star of the week. In 4 games, he scored 7 goals, added 5 assists and maintained a +3 rating. He started his week with a 4-point performance against the Victoriaville Tigres on Tuesday night, but that wasn’t his best game. Sunday, in a 10-6 win over the Cape Breton Screaming Eagles, he collected 6 points. That performance is a career high and is a new team record for most points by a defenseman in a single game.  He scored 2 hat tricks this week for a total of 4 in his playing career.

Evgeny Svechnikov, Cape Breton Screaming Eagles forward, is the second star. He scored one goal, added 8 assists and had a +/- of +5 in three games this week. The Detroit Red Wings’ first rounder, was named the first star of the game on Wednesday in a 6-3 win over the Chicoutimi Saguenéens. He assisted on the first 4 goals of his team. Sunday, in an offensive game, he recorded three more assists but that wasn’t enough to beat the Quebec Remparts.

The third star of the week is awarded to the Sherbrooke Phoenix forward, Guillaume Gauthier. He scored three goals, added 4 assists and maintained a +5 rating in three games. He recorded an assist on Kay Schweri’s goal late in the game on Friday to force overtime where his team got the win over the Rimouski Oceanic. Against the Victoriaville Tigres on Sunday, he became the first player to reach 20 goals this season by scoring a hat trick. He also added 2 helpers to lead his team past the Tigres. He is now tied with Francis Perron as the League leaders in points with 37.
