On the road: The Phoenix take on the Huskies
The Phoenix continues its journey in Abitibi where it will stop-in tonight at the home of the Rouyn-Noranda Huskies @ 7pm. This is the first meeting between the two sides this season.
As was the case with the Foreurs, the Huskies already have 6 games played. It should be remembered that before last Wednesday’s game, Stéphane Julien’s men had only played two games, both against the Armada. The team’s activities were subsequently suspended due to a COVID-19 outbreak. It was only last week that Sherbrooke returned to ice and resumed their morning practices. Conversely, the Huskies have never stopped practicing and were able to continue playing some teams before the suspension of games in the QMJHL and the announcement of the resumption of action.
While the Phoenix has a record of 3 losses, the locals have 1 win, 4 losses and 1 shootout loss. Alex Beaucage is off to a good start to the season as he is in the league’s top scorers so far with 7 goals.
The Phoenix will have to up their efforts on defense. 19 goals have been allowed in 3 games for the Birds. They will also have to be disciplined, allowing 6 goals on the penalty-kill so far this season.
