Launch of the 2020-2021 season of the Phœnix at Ciné-Parc Orford!
Sherbrooke, September 22, 2020 – The Sherbrooke Phœnix will mark the start of its 2020-2021 season in style, despite the closed-door policy. In fact, on October 2nd, the organization invites its supporters to come and watch the first game of its season at Ciné-Parc Orford, while the team will be hosting the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada at 7 pm.
As previously announced, the current season of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League will be played without spectators in its amphitheaters. The Sherbrooke Phoenix still wish to celebrate the start of its 9th campaign with its fans. Therefore, the organization has chosen to present the October 2nd game on one of the giant screens at Ciné-Parc Orford.
“We are very excited about the start of the season and we want to share this excitement with all our fans. This is a unique opportunity to encourage the team in a family atmosphere, reminiscent of games at the Palais des Sports. So, if you want to experience the opening game surrounded by supporters, with entertainment, and above all, in compliance with health & safety guidelines, we invite you to attend the game “live” at Ciné-Parc Orford » launches President and co-shareholder of The Phœnix, Mr. Denis Bourque.
A total of 320 vehicles will be able to attend the “live” braodcast. The cost will be $ 20 per car and tickets will be on sale via the Ciné-Parc Orford website. The site will open its doors at 5.30 p.m. The puck drops at at 7 p.m. Jean-Sébastien Hammal and Onyx will be on-hand to provide entertainment and provide a great experience for those present. The play-by-play of the game will be provided, again this year, by Marc Bryson, live from the Palais des Sports.
“It’s a great opportunity for our fans. If they cannot be present with us at the Palais des Sports, they will be able to cheer for us all together around a giant screen. Last year, we really felt the support from the fans, and we want to know that they are still behind us, despite this peculiar season. We need them and this is a great opportunity to show them”, said Stéphane Julien, head coach and general manager of the team.
