Award ceremony for the 2019-2020 season
Sherbrooke, September 25, 2020 – The Phoenix will launch its 9th campaign on October 2nd at 7 p.m. at the Palais des Sports. An opening ceremony will be dedicated to the presentation of the honors collected by the 2019-2020 edition of the Sherbrooke junior hockey club, namely the Jean Rougeau trophy awarded to the regular season Champions and the Luc-Robitaille trophy awarded to the team with the most goals.
Pre-game ceremony
The Phoenix will begin its pre-game ceremony with the presentation of the 2020-2021 edition of the Sherbrooke Phoenix. A tribute will then be paid to last season’s team. Remember that the 2019 2020 edition of the Phoenix had a dream season, reigning at the top of the Canadian Hockey League for most of the season and amassing individual and collective records. Unfortunately, the situation surrounding COVID-19 brought the season to an abrupt end.
It will therefore be a great opportunity to highlight the work accomplished by Stéphane Julien’s men. For the occasion, last season’s veterans who completed their junior careers will be at center ice to receive the accolades. Note that this is the first time since the start of the concession that the organization will raise a banner in the name of the Phoenix.
The supporters with us… at Ciné-Parc
It is with a mixture of emotions that the Phoenix will receive the trophies as the fans will not be physically there with the team to receive these accolades. However, the organization and Hamster Mégaburo invite fans to Ciné-Parc Orford to participate in this important moment in the history of the Phoenix.
“Despite the distance, we really want to share this moment with our fans. They were with us all last season cheering us on. They made the difference. We may be at the Palais des Sports, and them at the Ciné-Parc, but we will feel that they are behind us. They also deserve to attend the awards ceremony and we are happy to be able to offer them this option,” said Samuel Poulin, captain of the Sherbrooke Phoenix.
Remember that tickets are on sale now on the Ciné-Parc Orford site at a cost of $20 per car. The site will open its doors at 5:30 p.m. Jean-Sébastien Hammal and Onyx will be on hand to provide entertainment. Fans in attendance will have a chance to win a host of prizes, including a webcast subscription, jersey and one of 5 special edition soft toys. Marc Bryson will provide the play-by-play of the game against the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada from the Palais des Sports.
The opening game is a presentation of Desjardins.
